How to break your 9 year old's heart

Tell her we have to cancel her party (set for tonight) because her sister has the flu.

Hubby is sick with whatever I had. Buddy is still fighting off something, and I have a call into the doctor for more antibiotics for me.

Gah.

Just for the record, I'm really sick and tired of all of us being sick and tired.

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I've been there and done that more times than I can count (the sick and tired of sick and tired, I mean). I hope everyone's feeling better very soon.

Oh, dear. Shame for your daughter, but, what else can you do? It's bound to be a much better party when the entire family is feeling ship-shape. Get well soon!

LadyBug - If anyone knows anything about sick and tired families, it's you. :)

Platypus - Thanks, love. :)

Ortizzle - Yeppers.

Oh, Kelli! I'm sorry about all the sickness. I know, we've had things like that in our house, too. I finally had to march the entire family into the doc on the same day so we could all take antibiotics at the same time. Then I cleaned things with bleachwater that don't usually get cleaned much - the germ hotspots: doorknobs, phones, refrigerator door handle, light switches, computer keyboards (be careful with this one), etc... Last, but not least, I threw away everyone's toothbrush and replaced them with all new. We finally got rid of our Creeping Crud Disease. I hope you all feel well soon!

Oh, honey. I know that kinda sick and tired, too. Was just sitting here whining to Jif. It's harder when it's your little ones who are sick and disappointed, though. There'll be another party scheduled? It'll be even better than tonight would've been, I'm sure of it.
Hugs to you. xxx

On Wednesday's Oprah, a repeat many times over, we learned who said "sick and tired of being sick and tired." Of course I've eaten turkey and slept since then.

Just remember to keep the "good things come to those who wait" saying in mind and all will be well. If you're all well of course. hehe

Awwww danggit... I'm disappointed, too. We just had to cancel a birthday a couple of weeks ago because the birthday boy was sick. Cross your fingers, it's rescheduled for tomorrow night. I'm sad for Miss Punkin, but like Susie said, the next one will be even better! Does she like books?

It worked once before, so I will try it again now that I fancy myself a healer in addition to cult leader.

Illness sucks, so cut it out!

Let the healing begin.

Lynn - I may have to do something along those lines. I couldn't get them in to the doctor today, and they do appear to be a little bit better. Who knows...

Susie - Yes, I'm sure you know it much better than I do. Major hugs to you, love.

Mr. B - I'm just over here waiting on the good things...

Eclectic - I hope your party went well. We're thinking of a "do over" for some time in February. Punkin LOVES books.

Bone - That's a good start there, Bone. I think we need a little more of that -- this time, with FEELING! ;)
