WWC: Awaken, Renew

Weekend Words Challenge: Awaken, Renew

The weather has turned Spring-like again. There was plenty around the big top to photograph to represent "Awaken":

Little bluish flowers I don't know the name of, just waking up

Daffodils - These came up, then got socked down when the weather turned cold again. Thankfully, they're coming back.

These are the buds on our lilac bush coming to life again.

Renew:
Spring also is the beginning of Hubby's renewed immersion in something that I consider to be a large part of who he is.

Motorcycles.

Don't forget to stop by OddMix's place to see who else played!

The purple flower is a hyacinth, my dear. However, I have been known to call them the purple grapes, too.

Hi CK.

I love me some daffodils! My mom always called them "jonquils", though I've never figured out why.

For eclectic, from Wikipedia:

Narcissus is the botanic name for a genus of hardy, mostly spring-flowering, bulbs. There are several Narcissus species that bloom in the autumn. Daffodil is a common English name, sometimes used now for all narcissus.

Narcissus are sometimes called jonquils in North America, particularly in the Southeastern United States, but strictly speaking that name belongs only to the rush-leaved Narcissus jonquilla and cultivars derived from it.

From Nilsipedia: Motorcycles are also called donorcycles, and are generally found under men who believe the vibrations will aid with penis growth.

My girls were always strictly forbidden to ride on donorcycles, even as a passenger, even for the shortest distance. These days, when they are finally admitting to stuff they did as teenagers that they couldn't fess up to at the time, they still insist that they never broke that rule. And better, that the rule will live on for their children. Leaving only 1,986,444 things to worry about. That I can think of today.

Mr. B - I'll get on Hubby's bad motor skooter and ride!

Shelby - Ah, that's a hyacinth, huh? Excellent!

William - Hi!

Eclectic - We inherited lots of bunches of daffies with this house. I love them!

Nilbo - Goodness, aren't you a regular fount of knowledge today?

Eclectic - Pediatric? Huh?

Hey, Nilbo: with all that you put in the comments section, you could have turned it into a post for your own blog! (You should take lessons from others who get credit for commenting with a cursory "hi" ... now why didn't I think of that?)

C.K.: Daffodils and tulips have always been my floral signs of spring. Even if the cold stunts their growth for a while.

Ahh...motorcycles. Time to drag out Mr. Half's '75 BMW R-90S and go to a concert.

I love the flowers! And lilacs...you live in a warmer climate than us by a little bit, don't you?!

Circus Kelli said...

Effie - Yep, we're a little bit warmer than you up there. I *love* lilacs.

Wordgirl - You like motorcycles?

Ortizzle - They're becoming my signs as well.
