I've brought my two of my favorite holiday recipes:

Powdered Sugar Crescent Cookies - my Aunt's recipe
I've also made these into "snowballs" - it's easier than shaping the crescents.

1 cup butter (I've found that Imperial Margarine works best)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar
Add the rest and wix well.
Shape crescents 1/2" diameter, 1" long
Bake 375 degrees, 15 minutes

Sprinkle or roll in more powdered sugar when cool

Enjoy with milk - plenty of milk!

Sugar Cinnamon Nuts - my Mom's recipe
1 pound nuts (walnuts recommended)
2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon

Bring sugar, water and cinnamon to a boil.
Add nuts, stir all until mixture starts to crystallize.
Spread on cookie sheet and put in fridge to cool.
Break into bits and eat.

Every Christmas morning, As Hubby assembles and/or adds batteries to any of the toys or games the clowns receive from Santa, I'll cook up our biggest breakfast of the year. We have pancakes, bacon and sausage - not just *any* pancakes, though. They have to be Nonnie's pancakes. To this day, the pancakes she used to make are the best pancakes I've ever tasted. A few weeks ago, Buddy asked (in a voice full of angsty anticipation) "When is it going to be Christmas so we can have pancakes?!" We'll all eat until we're completely full, then roll out of our chairs and contemplate the rest of our day. Usually, we head over to Hubby's Aunt's/Uncle's get-together in the afternoon to exchange gifts.

Christmas Eve is usually spent with my in-laws. The day after Christmas will be the gift exchange with my Mom, Dit and nephew. Our last Christmas exchange of the year is usually with Bio-Mom and Grandpa Choo-Choo. This exchange is usually the more laidback of them all. This year, we've been told we can wear our jammies over to their house if we'd like.

Some of our other traditions include sending out the Christmas newsletter, spoiling the kids a bit, and attempting to not get too stressed out with all that "needs to be done." Last night, we braved the elements and the last minute shoppers at the mall to take the clowns to see Santa.

Tonight I'll do my best to finish wrapping the rest of the gifts and tomorrow I'll make a couple of side dishes to bring over to my in-laws. After that, all I have to do is roll along with the holiday, and do my best to focus more on enjoying the day and the company.

Here's a cup of cheer to toast to the holidays, good friends, laughter and joy.

Best wishes to you for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Nope. I'm afraid Punkin is going to have to make those sugared walnuts for me, because whatever magic she put into them this year made them the most delicious ones I've ever tasted!

Merry Christmas everyone at the Circus!!

(P.S. The word "naps" is in my verification word. Does that mean I get to take a secret nap?)

Yay! I almost posted CK's recipe for nuts! But I didn't. But I do make them, now. And I LOVE those crescent cookies (you might even see one in the box of cookies in my photo), but I didn't have a recipe. Now I do. I like the pajama celebration best. Merry Christmas, CK and Circus!

My veri. word is "merion." Get your meri on!

Hi, just visiting for the party. Nice to meet you.

I love those crescent cookies, but I have always had them made with pecans. I'm sure they are awesome any which way.

My word verification is "esornsid". (This defeats my creative abilities, although I'm thinking that 'ES' could be "Emergency Snacks".)

I'm excited to have a recipe for snowdrops (because I can guarantee you I will not be doing the extra work to shape them... that would set a dangerous precedent)! Thanks, Kelli! :)
I make an orange-y nut like that one. LOVE them!!
Pajamas sound like a wonderful party attire... but if you stop by my place, you'll see that I am partial to them. ;)

Merry Christmas to the entire Circus!

Word Verification = "crefa" ...which I suppose is what you get when you are too sleep to say Christmas and Fa-la-la-la-la. ;)
